Houston, located in Southeast Texas near the Gulf of Mexico, is the most populous metropolis in Texas and the fourth most populous city in the United States. Its economy is based on a diverse industrial base that includes energy, manufacturing, aeronautics/aviation, and transportation.
Texas led the nation in crude oil, natural gas, wind energy, and power production in 2009. MIAT College of Technology officially built a campus in Houston in 2010 in response to the region's booming power industry. The technical school campus is conveniently situated near one of the top energy production epicenters in the United States.
MIAT's technical programs provide college students with the opportunity to be at the vanguard of a growing industry and to find professions in the industries of aviation, power, and hvacr. To meet the needs of the local market, Houston's campus retains a strong emphasis on traditional energy generation methods, especially oil and gas.
If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, and want a career path that provides stability and security, all it takes is concentrated instruction to get you started. MIAT's training programs — Aviation, Energy, Renewable Energy (Wind Power), HVACR, Robotics and Automation, Welding, and Non-Destructive Testing — give hands-on instruction, allowing students to pursue a career rather than sitting in a classroom for years.
Financial aid is provided to those who qualify to assist students in managing their expenses. Post-graduation planning services such as one-on-one consulting, resume writing, interview tips, and access to job fairs help graduates and students launch their careers.
