Seminar on Airframes and Powerplants (Transitioning Military & Veterans)
Certificate for a Limited Time
The Airframe & Powerplant Seminar Short-term Certificate program is for persons with past experience as aircraft mechanics and an FAA-approved 8610-2 form. It is designed for transitioning, retiring military and veterans with aircraft maintenance experience. The 6- to 8-week curriculum prepares students for FAA testing and employment by providing review, gap training, and industry preparation. The program covers the general, airframe, and powerplant components of the written, oral, and practical FAA license tests, with a concentration on commercial aviation subjects not frequently seen during military duty. It prepares students for a future as an Aviation Maintenance Technician by providing them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities.
This course is for transitioning military personnel, retirees, and veterans with aviation maintenance experience.

Before allowing FAA testing for an FAA Mechanic Certificate for Airframe and/or Powerplant, the FAA needs documented experience as an aircraft mechanic (18 months for Airframe or Powerplant, and 30 months if your experience included both Airframe and Powerplant).
FAA testing is divided into three categories: general, airframe, and powerplant.
FAA testing requires a properly completed FAA Form 8610-2 in all situations.
Each area (General, Airframe, and Powerplant) has three types of FAA exams: written, oral, and practical. At McChord Air Force Base, service personnel can take FAA written tests for free.
The A&P Seminar Certificate at South Seattle College is for people who:
Have completed the FAA rating application form 8610-2.
They've started their written tests and discovered areas where they need to study more.
In areas where experience shortages exist, a rigorous, hands-on examination of FAA Oral and Practical test topics is required.
I'm looking for a way to advance my career. Students can take tours of aircraft maintenance and fabrication facilities, interact with industry representatives, and apply for aviation maintenance jobs.
A collaborative environment with skilled advisors and instructors may be beneficial.
Require a program that has been approved for Veterans Education Benefits or other forms of financial aid.
Military Personnel Transitioning or Retiring
