South Georgia Technical Institution, located in the heart of Southwest Georgia, is a residential college that provides the most up-to-date technical education as well as an entertaining campus environment for all students. Students can attend college at one of two campuses: Americus' main campus or the Crisp County Center in Cordele.
With a low student-teacher ratio, SGTC is able to provide a high-quality technical education through hands-on instruction. But don't be fooled by it. SGTC also provides the environment you'd expect from a two-year institution. JETS Basketball, student clubs and organizations, and a remodeled student center with ping-pong, video games, and pool tables add to the campus's fun and excitement. Dorm students and commuting students can both take advantage of meal plans provided by the on-campus dining hall.
While providing students with a fantastic college experience is crucial at SGTC, our emphasis on quality technical education and career placement is even more important. SGTC's objective is to provide outstanding student services, educational facilities and equipment, and a competent and qualified faculty and staff, as well as to promote life-long learning through educational contributions to the communities served. By carrying out this objective, SGTC meets a critical need in its seven-county service delivery area.
