Our Current Business Operations

Sierra Academy of Aeronautics is an FAA Part 141 and Part 61 flying school that offers international and domestic flight instruction. Sierra Academy is ideally located in Atwater, California, near the former Castle Air Force Base, currently known as Castle Airport (KMER).

Part 141 students at Sierra Academy learn how to become a professional pilot, not just how to become a pilot. Sierra is an FAA Part 141 Flight School with an FAA Part 121 Air Carrier Spirit, which means we prepare students to meet or surpass the standards and expectations of an airline job, right down to the uniform.

Also, Sierra Academy Part 61 students who desire to become a Private Pilot and enjoy the pure experience of flying, have a sense of success, sight see, develop vital skills that can be applied in other areas of life, or upgrade your credentials, this is the experience for you.

Our professional Flight, Business, Admission, and Maintenance Departments have over 40 years of combined expertise managing and organizing flight training operations. With a finely tuned training environment that produces Part 141 Commercial pilots and Part 61 Private pilots, this level of attention and expertise allows for a successful and consistent pass rate.

COURSE FOR CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

Sierra Academy of Aeronautics is a Part 141 and Part 61 FAA-approved flight school. Our aim has always been to develop the next generation of commercial airline pilots, private pilots, instrument rated pilots, multi-engine rated pilots, and professional flight instructors. Being a CFI is a hard and rewarding vocation that allows you to use all you learned during your flight training to instruct new pilots. Flight instructors strive to be role models in the aviation community, passing on their expertise and experience to their pupils.

To continue in this history, Sierra is offering you a Training Program that will allow you to take your first step toward obtaining a CFI rating and maybe your CFII and MEI.
