According to the Oregon Employment Department, employment of aviation mechanics in the Portland area will expand 14.6 percent through 2027.
Since 1969, PCC's Aviation Maintenance Technology program has prepared graduates for careers in aviation maintenance. Our program provides numerous local resources, government approval, and a curriculum that is particularly tailored to allow you to graduate in less than two years.
Our advisory council, which is made up of a cross-section of industry professionals, meets semi-annually to examine our curriculum and ensure that we are preparing for employer needs.
The overall cost for the eight terms of the full Aviation Maintenance Technology program is roughly $18,000. It is around one-third the cost of several other AMT programs across the country.
The Federal Aviation Administration has certified PCC's AMT program, and the Veterans Administration has approved it. Our program prepares you to take the Federal Aviation Administration's national tests.

Aviation maintenance specialists work in a variety of environments, from the open air in all types of weather to a climate-controlled shop or hangar. Because you'll gain a variety of skills in the program, you'll be able to find work in non-aviation industries as well.
