The FAA-certified Aviation Maintenance Technology program prepares students for careers as aircraft, airframe, and powerplant mechanics. For the Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology, the curriculum consists of four semesters of autumn, spring, and summer courses.
Admission to the program in the fall semester.
Only available at the DeSoto Center- Olive Branch campus.
The FAA has set a maximum enrollment of 20 students each class.
Admissions applications must be received by June 1st.
Fill out an Admissions Application to the college.
Applicants must have an ACT composite score of 15 or above.
Fill out an Aviation Maintenance Technology Program Application. Forms for the program are also available at the Northwest/DeSoto Center, 5197 W.E. Ross Parkway, Southaven, MS 38617.
Admission paperwork must be submitted to both the Office of Admissions and Records and the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program Director.
Admissions applications and all relevant paperwork must be received by June 1.
Interview with the lead instructor of the Aviation Maintenance Program. An interview with an instructor will be set once all paperwork have been completed and submitted. The interview schedule will be communicated to applicants.
Acceptance into the program must be communicated by the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program Director.
Please submit a recent negative 5-panel drug screen.
At the interview, applicants must pass a basic, "hands-on" mechanical aptitude exam.
