The Aircraft Maintenance Technician program at Minneapolis College will train you to do extensive service, repair, and detailed inspections on all types of aircraft while satisfying Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. The curriculum covers the material and delivers the clock hours needed to prepare you for the FAA's Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) licensing examinations.
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician program at Minneapolis College dates back to WWII, when it prepared technicians to work in Northwest Airlines' Modification Center at Holman Field, where aircraft were modified for a variety of military tasks.
In 2013, Minneapolis College launched a public-private relationship with Delta Air Lines/Endeavor Air after receiving a grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development to relocate its program to Delta premises.
Our current teachers are all Minneapolis College graduates with substantial experience in general and commercial flying.

You will learn to service, repair, and overhaul all aspects of aircraft systems, structures, and engines to ensure safety, airworthiness, and proper operation through lecture and hands-on lab.
You will learn how to access specifications, diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques based on manufacturer manuals, Federal Aviation Regulations (F.A.R.s), and the Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.s)
Because teamwork is essential in the aviation industry, you will study team-building and communication tactics, as well as important decision-making and deductive reasoning skills.
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician program at Minneapolis College has been designed to prepare students to take the Federal Aviation Administration's national licensure examination for an aircraft maintenance technician. The national exam is necessary for licensing in all 50 states and U.S. protectorates.
As a result, the Aircraft Maintenance Technician program satisfies the educational criteria for professional licensure in all 50 states and U.S. protectorates. State-specific tests, background checks, feed, extra training, experience, and courses, among other things, may be required.
