Turn your passion for aviation and the aeronautical sciences into a rewarding profession by enrolling in one of the nation's top universities for flying, aviation management, aircraft maintenance, dispatch, unmanned aircraft systems, and mission aviation training. All training, labs, and classes are delivered by LeTourneau University instructors and faculty, which means that none of our program instruction is outsourced to third-party vendors. If you're interested in aviation and want to make your ambitions a reality, you've come to the perfect place.
EXCELLENCE HAS A LONG TRADITION
Our program originated in 1956 as a "on the job" training program at R.G. LeTourneau's aircraft business in Longview, Texas. Students could begin their studies on any Monday and learn from competent aviation professionals. Almost everything about our program has evolved over the last six decades, but personal integrity, professional competence, and the capacity to "get the job done" have remained the hallmarks of LeTourneau aviation alumni.
HIGHLY QUALIFIED TEACHERS
Our teaching members are academically competent and have extensive industrial expertise in airline, business, missions, manufacturing, and military aviation. Our teachers have "been there and done that," and their knowledge enriches the classroom and laboratory in a unique way.
ALUMNI WHO ARE RESPECTED
LETU aviation graduates work as mission aviators, airline pilots, engineers, managers, aircraft inspectors, military pilots, corporate leaders, aircraft mechanics, and more around the world. They are men and women of religion, personal integrity, and professional brilliance who are making a difference in aviation workplaces all around the world.
STUDENTS OF QUALITY
Our students have the talent and determination to thrive in their field, as evidenced by standardized exam scores that are significantly higher than the national average. In addition, they give back to our community and industry. Our students are actively engaged in service learning, whether it is our NIFA team supporting the largest "fly-in" in the state of Texas or our mission aviation students promoting the Gospel in distant corners of the world.
FACILITIES THAT ARE STATE-OF-THE-ART
The Paul and Betty Abbott Aviation Center, located across the airport from where our journey began more than 60 years ago, is a world-class facility. Our students study in cutting-edge facilities and fly planes that are meticulously maintained by our own expert crew.
