Teaching the next generation of maintenance workers how to service, support, inspect, maintain, and operate diverse aircraft types.
Our aviation maintenance management program, which is available as an associate and bachelor's degree, also prepares students to take the Federal Aviation Administration's Airframe and Powerplant certification. More than 11,000 square feet of lab space is available for students to obtain hands-on experience working on real airplanes.
You'll get hands-on experience with over ten actual aircraft, ranging from a Bell 206 helicopter to a cabin-class, turbine-powered King Air 90. When working on these aircraft, aviation systems, electrical simulators, and building your own aircraft components, you will gain troubleshooting and analytical abilities. We give aviation maintenance management students the technical skills they need to succeed in their careers. You'll acquire the procedures of an aviation mechanic while also developing the skills required to advance your career into a leadership position.
The aircraft repair sector is expanding. With a graduate placement rate of 96 percent, you'll be well on your way to a job in an industry with a typical pay of $61,000. Our students are employed in the private, commercial, and military sectors.
Our first goal is to see you succeed. We equip you with the tools you need to find work after graduation through a variety of networking opportunities, including on-campus career fairs, internships, and conferences. With these tools at your disposal, you'll be able to outperform the competition.
Earn your degree from a university that satisfies all of the Federal Aviation Administration's standards for the Airframe and Powerplant certificate. After earning your bachelor's degree, you'll be ready to take the FAA A&P certification examinations. You may take your examinations here on campus because we are an FAA-certified testing center with mechanical examiner instructors.
The Airframe and Powerplant certificate provided by the FAA is a government-issued certification that allows aviation maintenance specialists to return aircraft to operation. You will be in charge of maintenance quality assurance and will have signing power to restore repaired and inspected aircraft to the skies.
We offer a one-stop shop for completing your FAA A&P at K-State Salina. Our classes will prepare you to take the A&P examinations, which you can take right here on campus in our testing center. Even better, we have an FAA-designated mechanic examiner on-site, so you'll be taking the exam from someone you know.
We graduate aviation experts at the Aerospace and Technology Campus, allowing you to take your career to new heights. You will be in charge of maintaining and troubleshooting a G1000 simulator, as well as developing, debugging, and inspecting wiring harnesses. You will also be able to build, repair, and alter aircraft structures and systems. Our curriculum allows you to study on genuine aircraft, with a fleet of more than ten functional aircraft available in the lab, ranging from a Bell helicopter to a cabin-class, turbine-powered King Air 90. In addition to the bachelor's degree, our avionics electronics technology certificate is NCATT-certified and prepares you to pass the NCATT Aviation Electronics Technician certification.
