A career in the aviation sector is thrilling, but it necessitates a good educational foundation. Enrolling in Iowa Western's Aviation Maintenance Technology Airframe Certificate program will provide you with exactly that. Students who successfully complete the FAA criteria are issued a certificate that allows them to work in the aircraft maintenance industry.
This one-of-a-kind degree, which is rarely offered at other community schools, gives you the option of concentrating completely on Airframe Maintenance Technology. A student's time is spent conducting hands-on lab work and training on actual aircraft in Iowa Western's state-of-the-art Aviation building at the Council Bluffs airport.
Power slide presentations provide students with the most up-to-date information, and all program manuals are available online for simple access. According to our graduates, this demanding program prepared them effectively for instant employment in the aviation business.
After completing the one-year certificate program, students are expected to enter the labor force. Students will learn how to service and repair the fuselage, nacelles, cowlings, fairings, airfoil surfaces, and landing gear in this curriculum. Students interested in pursuing a higher education should enroll in the two-year Aviation Maintenance Technology program and achieve an Associate of Applied Science degree.
Students who successfully complete the program will:
Determine the applicability of federal aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, FAA specifications, or type certificate data sheets, and interpret the privileges and limitations of an airframe mechanic with respect to the maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding, altering, and inspection of an aircraft's airframe.
