The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has certified Ivy Tech's Aviation Maintenance Technology program to teach students the skills required to perform maintenance, inspection, and repair on civilian aircraft.
Students will find aviation to be a rewarding and fascinating career path. Our expert educators come to us from a variety of industries. Their continuing involvement in the field keeps the skills and knowledge taught in the curriculum up to date and relevant.
All aviation lessons are taught in person at Ivy Tech's Aviation Center at Smith Field Airport in Fort Wayne. Depending on the semester, classes are held in 4-hour blocks for 8, 10, or 16 weeks. Attendance is important to the success of the student enrolled in this program due to federal rules.
