Columbus State Community College provides training to students interested in pursuing a career in aircraft maintenance.
For many years, Aviation Maintenance Technician training has provided a gateway to opportunities in aviation mechanic occupations and associated sectors. Columbus State University offers training to become a certified Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Technician.
For employment as an Aviation Maintenance Technician, a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate issued under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part (14CFR65) is required.
Aviation Maintenance Technicians play an important role in the fast-paced, exciting aviation/aerospace business. The expansion of the aerospace industry produces a constant demand for freshly trained AMTs, and intriguing career opportunities abound.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Columbus State Community College. Columbus State University's Aviation Maintenance Technology program is an FAA-approved program with the certificate number DL9T090R.
A minimum of 1900 hours of training in an Aviation Maintenance Technician Program is required by the Federal Aviation Administration. To meet that criteria, the program at Columbus State needs four semesters and two summer sessions of full-time study. Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., full-time students attend. There is also a night program that offers evening courses on a part-time basis.
In addition, while completing the A&P certificate program, an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance can be acquired. A study plan has been included.

Students interested in pursuing a career in Aviation Maintenance Technology must apply to Columbus State Community College and pass the Placement Test. Prospective students are required to enroll in ENGL 1100 and MATH 1020. Apply to Columbus State University.
