Airport operations management and aviation operations are two degrees that will teach you about a wide range of staff, operational, managerial, and administrative jobs in the aviation industry. Airport Operations focuses on the everyday administrative responsibilities required in running an airport, whereas Aviation Operations provides a wide grounding in the aviation sector.
You can gain real-world experience and day-to-day operations in the field while learning about international airport certification standards. Two intense internships are provided to provide you with real-world experience:
Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL) Miami International Airport (MIA) (FLL)
The Air Traffic Control A.S., one of Broward College's newest programs, was established by industry air traffic operators and teaches you basic air traffic control. The training adheres to FAA knowledge and competence standards to assure your success in airport towers across the country. You may be eligible for the FAA Academy after completing BC's program and passing the Air Traffic Selection and Training Aptitude Test (AT-SAT).
If you wish to become a commercial airline pilot, our pilot school provides a complete education. The curriculum includes all flight credentials required to place you in the pilot's seat. You will be educated on state-of-the-art flight simulators by FAA-certified flying instructors.
Our training programs, which are run in collaboration with Phoenix East Aviation, will lead to the following FAA pilot certificates:
Commercial Pilot Instrument Rating Private Pilot Instrument Rating Commercial Pilot Multi-Engine Rating Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Rating (CFII)

Our Avionics certificate program will educate you how to repair and maintain aircraft navigation components and systems such as:
Communication via radio
Radar weather forecasting systems
Flight, engine, and other key operations are controlled by computers.
The Aviation Maintenance program provides you the confidence to enter the highly competitive field of aviation maintenance as a highly skilled technician. As a program graduate, you will be qualified for any entry-level position. You will have a thorough working knowledge of all basic structural design and system functions of aircrafts by the end of this course.
The certificate program in Airframe Maintenance Mechanics leads to the Federal Aviation Administration airframe certificate. The curriculum is FAA certified and the course of study complies with FAR Part 147.
Certificate program completion may be converted into college credit (30 credits per license) toward an Associate of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Management.
This program is given in two 400-hour blocks and registration requires special approval.
The certificate program in Powerplant Maintenance Mechanics leads to the Federal Aviation Administration powerplant certificate. The curriculum is FAA certified and the course of study complies with FAR Part 147.
Certificate program completion may be converted into college credit (30 credits per license) toward an Associate of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Management.

The Professional Pilot Technology program is a Part 141 program approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The Air Traffic Control program is a participant in the FAA's Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI).
